Surf Fishing

Lakes
Many of Victorias lakes are man made reservoirs built for irrigation or drinking water. They range from the might Eildon to smaller lakes like Lake Nagambie. Some natural lakes are saltwater such as the massive Gippsland Lakes system. While others are volcanic craters stocked with species such as Chinook Salmon.
Freshwater
Freshwater fishing in Victoria ranges from mountain streams with Rainbow and Brown Trout to slow moving inland rivers with Murray Cod and Yellowbelly.
Estuary
Fishing estuaries in Victoria offers some great angling opportunities. From the far south-west coast, the central region with the Yarra and Maribyrnong, the massive Lakes Entrance and surrounding waterways. Capped off with river and creeks across to the far eastern border. The Lakes Entrance waterway is notable as Victoria’s largest estuary system.
